The 2 hour class is taught by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, IBCLC. The class size is kept small to provide an opportunity for questions and discussion.
Your fee includes you and your support person (spouse, partner, family member, friend). Please note that classes are final sale.
It also covers your assessment fee if you come to one of our drop-in breastfeeding clinics, reducing your first visit from $40.00 to $20.00.
We will cover the basics of life with a new baby, focussing on normal newborn behaviour in the first hours, days and weeks postpartum.
Topics include: What will those first feeds be like. How to know if your baby is getting enough milk. Positions including laid back nurturing. Hand expressing, pumping and milk storage. Myths and misconceptions. How our partners, support people and extended family can help support a positive breastfeeding experience. When to get help.
Our aim is to provide you with some basic and up to date information so that you can reach your breastfeeding goals. Classes take place in our comfortable milkspace at 445 Churchill Ave N and are 2 hours long.
